What a sudden upset

I've always been a huge Metroid fangirl, so when I found out that Samus would be in Super Smash Bros. way back when, I was super excited. I thought everyone had forgotten about her since her last game was Super Metroid (1994) and Smash came out in 1999. Five years without any sign of Samus, and you can bet I was happy to see her again. She was my main character, no question. Fast forward to Melee, and again, Samus was always my main character, although I do moonlight as Ness or Mr. Game and Watch.

Fast forward to Brawl, and well... with the turn the Metroid series has taken in the last couple years which has left me pretty dissatisfied... I think Olimar is going to be my new main character.

SO A RANDOM SHOT OF THEM TOGETHER in some goofy pose. Fairly lame background (with an incredibly vague final destination at the bottom there) because I honestly have no idea what they're doing, really. BEING DYNAMIC I GUESS. Samus is missing her foot because again it ran off the paper. I could have redrawn it but my hands were shaking badly when I was inking this to begin with, and I didn't really feel like it.
WOO INCONSISTENT LIGHT SOURCE YEAH metallic surfaces completely confound me in terms of lighting

TIME SPENT ON SAMUS'S ARMOR: RIDICULOUS. And weirdly enough I still like how Olimar came out way more than her. DARN IT. Her armor design is taken from the Super Metroid design for her, so don't even start with me. I just realized she doesn't have that small green oxygen panel on her chestplate. FRICK.

If you spoil anything that happens in the Subspace Emissary for me I will stab you in the throat.


Edit: OH DANG my friend Del just pointed out that Purple/White Pikmin have PINK flowers, not white. ADURR. Fixed now.
